Principal’s Message
At Doncaster Secondary College, our students graduate with a positive outlook and well equipped to make a worthwhile contribution to the community.
Whether you are already part of our college community, a prospective family, or simply interested in finding out more about our College, I hope you will get a sense of just how wonderful our College community is. Selecting a school for your child is an incredibly important decision and I hope our website assists you with your first steps of learning more about Doncaster Secondary College.
Our College prides itself on the broad curricular and co-curricular programs available to students. We offer VCE, VCAL and VET subjects in senior school years and specialist programs for our students in Years 7 to 10, with the aim to further extend the talents of each individual in our school. We aim to provide excellence in all our education programs. High expectations are reflected through high levels of student responsibility and conduct and in student high success rate in relation to entrance to tertiary education and employment.
Student voice is integral to the teaching and learning at the College and we recognise that when we ‘work together’ we can ‘learn together’. The inclusion of student voice across the college is constantly promoted through our leadership opportunities which advance the capacity of our students and staff.
Offering a supportive community, student wellbeing is fostered and valued at the College. Nurturing students in this way has helped them to thrive and become engaged learners and caring citizens. Our whole school approach to wellbeing builds an inclusive culture of mutual care and respect where diversity is celebrated.
Our campus has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere and our facilities have consistently evolved over the years. Former DSC students convey pride in and reminisce fondly of their time at the College. In 2019 we celebrated our 50th Anniversary and welcomed many former students back to the College. As a community, we love hearing about and sharing what you have achieved since graduating – if you are a former student, please stay in touch.
We offer an outstanding educational program in equally outstanding and progressive facilities. Our care for our students, in partnership with parents, provides students with the best opportunity to achieve success and to enjoy their school years. We are proud of the outcomes achieved by our students and the highly successful pathways they follow is a reflection of the excellent education they experience at our College.
