ENROLMENT

Enrolment Process

Doncaster Secondary College is a zoned school with a designated neighbourhood boundary. As demand for places at our College is high, evidence of residency within the designated boundary is required from students wishing to attend the College.

We aim to accommodate all families living within the boundary and have clearly defined enrolment guidelines to ensure the process is streamlined and consistent with Government legislation.

‘Student Art Gallery’

Student art gallery is a permanent gallery at DSC that exhibits artwork from years 7 to 12. Titled ‘Tunnel vision’ this gallery is updated regularly and illustrates the wide variety of mediums students explore in Media studies, photography, visual communication design, textiles and art lessons. This gallery space provides students the opportunity to collaborate and curate their own exhibition at various times throughout the year.

The STEAM program at Doncaster Secondary College is designed to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts and Mathematics across the school and as a career pathway. It has been developed in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum Capabilities specifically in the area of Critical and Creative Thinking and 21st Century Skills that workforces are currently promoting. The Girls in STEM group meets each week to challenge girls in their STEAM thinking and development. Students are also encouraged to participate in competitions and events with a STEAM theme. Additional Support

The college offers additional support in literacy and numeracy across a range of year levels.

Students are identified as needing extra support through a variety of ways including: PAT test, on-demand testing, NAPLAN data, semester reports, teacher referrals, feedback and transition information.
